Well, some of these games came out in other consoles from last gen like the God of War games, the Sly games, Resident Evil 4, Okami, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and even GoldenEye 007 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma which are remakes. I bleieve they're talking RAM memory not disc space, otherwise they would just use a double layered disc(the torrent for U2 seems to be below 25gb). Memory has always been the bottleneck of the PS3.

Well the first one was released at the end of 2007, the second one at the beginning of 2010 and the third one is set for late 2011, so the time between each game is about 2 years. It's hard to realize that Mass Effect 2 came out almost a year ago.

I honestly don't know what they'll do after that, they have used up all their big franchises so I doubt there'll be another Mario Galaxy, Zelda or Metroid after 2011 for the Wii.
They are pre-rendered using the game's engine but they're still pre-rendered. The previous games also used pre-rendered scenes, and that's why the first comparison looks so different.
